Dear Visitors of this year’s Days of European Film,

Each year, Days of European Film offer us movies we do not see in mainstream distribution. This event shows us that European cinema still has a huge potential and that European film production represents a living organism featuring many levels and genres. My recognition goes to the organisers who reflect this diverse character when selecting movies and open the festival to spectators with different tastes. It is because of this effort to ever cultivate and move forward, among other things, that I take great pleasure in giving personal auspices to Days of European Film. I also think that such city as Prague which has been inspiring and hosting many generations of filmmakers, merits such a festival and that its inhabitants can truly appreciate it.
